Marble Blast Ultra: A Journey Through Time and Platforms

In May 2016, the beta version of Marble Blast Ultra (MBP) was released, but it didn't hit the public until October of that year. This delay allowed for some exciting developments to take place in the Marble Blast community.

One such development was the release of Marble Blast Platinum, a popular mod for Marble Blast Gold. The positive feedback from the community inspired Matan Weissman and Technostick to create the Marble Blast Forums. Unfortunately, this coincided with Luke Skywalker's increasing bad behavior on the GarageGames Forums.

Meanwhile, Luke joined the Marble Blast community and became notorious for his trolling. It took months for him to be banned from the forums. During this time, a Marble Blast Gold World Record Rampage was uploaded to YouTube, showcasing the game's speedrunning capabilities.

In 2004, Marble Blast Ultra was released for Microsoft's Xbox 360 console, featuring exclusive levels that would later appear in the PC version of the game. This marked the first port of Marble Blast to a non-PC platform.

The following year, Marble Blast was ported to Microsoft's original XBOX console, retailing at $14.99 and available as a digital download from eGames store. However, this version did not include the Gold expansion pack.

On June 24th, 2004, the Windows version of Marble Blast received a retail release under the title Marble Blaster, published by eGames. This update introduced the Gold Time gameplay mechanic and 28 new advanced levels to the game.

Marble Blast Gold, an expansion pack for the original Marble Blast, was released on May 9th, 2004. The game's success was evident when it sold over 1,000 copies in just three months, generating an estimated $15,000 in revenue by early March.

In February 2004, the Linux version of Marble Blast was released, followed by the Mac port on January 16th. This marked a significant milestone for the game's development.

Marble Blast first debuted as a digital download on December 12th, priced at $14.95 on the GarageGames store. A demo was also released in early December, giving players a taste of what was to come.

GarageGames and Monster Studios began developing Marble Blast in June 2003, laying the groundwork for its eventual release. Today, Marble Blast Ultra remains a beloved game among fans of puzzle-platformers, with its unique blend of speedrunning and challenging levels.
